Books have been such an important part of my life as you can see from the many blog posts that are about specific books. In the Hammer and Nail Bookstore you will find authors that I have grown to trust, biographies about people who have answered the call, theology and doctrine that help to keep us God-Centered and Christ Exalting.
To find the Hammer and Nail Bookstore simply click on the picture of the hammer in the right hand corner of the page. Check back frequently as more books and categories are added. Your comments are always welcome. The store is powered by Amazon, orders are completely done by them.
"Repeated blows of a hammer on the head of the same nail are necessary if it is to be driven in deeply, and one nail securely fixed is better than three of four loosely attached." A.W. Pink Hammer and Nail is about Books, biographies, history, theology, music and politics.

White Horse Inn at the Desiring God 2010 National Conference
During the our 2010 National Conference, the White Horse Inn recorded a live broadcast for future release which has now posted on their site. The title of the show is “Textual Narcissim” as it features a discussion on how 'me-centeredness' dominates biblical interpretation in our day.
Attendees were encouraged to grab their dinner and listen in as they had “Dinner with the White Horse Inn.” The show was hosted by the regulars Michael Horton, Rod Rosenbladt, and Kim Riddlebarger, along with guest Stephen Nichols who sat in for Ken Jones. Their conversation was a highlight for those who attended this packed out session.

The Influence of Dr. Lloyd-Jones
My life has been influnced by the good Doctor. I first read his "Studies on the Sermon on the Mount" and it was like fuel to a fire. I then picked up his commentary set on Ephesians and am curently in the first volume. I have learned deep lessons form "Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled" and "The Gospel in Genesis."
I recommend anything by Lloyd-Jones, next to John Piper he stirs my affections for the Lord and helps me glorify God and treasure Him more.

The History of Lausanne Movement
From the Lausanne website regarding the history of the movement: In July 1974 some 2,700 participants and guests from over 150 nations gathered in the Swiss Alps for ten days of discussion, fellowship, worship and prayer. The Congress achieved an unprecedented diversity of nationalities, ethnicities, ages, occupations and denominational affiliations. In fact, TIME magazine described the Lausanne Congress as “a formidable forum, possibly the widest-ranging meeting of Christians ever held.”
Lausanne Movement will hold the Third Congress on World Evangelisation in Cape Town, South Africa, 16-25 October 2010. This is a historic event in the Evangelical Movement.

2009 Books Read
Sermon on the Mount by Lloyd-Jones has had the greatest impact of any single book I have read. I highly recommend it and the good Dr. The Forgotten 500 was a favorite WWII read for the year. The Plain Mr. Knox was read in preparation for a biographical talk at church. Read a lot of Calvin as I got ready for the Calvin Desiring God Conference.
