The Westminster Confession of Faith - 1647

I want to embark on a journey going through the Westminster Confession of Faith that were established in 1647. Each day I plan to post a chapter to meditate on and review the truths that are stated in them.

The importance of this confession are noted by B.B. Warfield in this quote; "As truly as in the cases of the Nicene and Chalcedonian formularies, the Westminster Standards mark an epoch in the history of human reflection on the truths of the gospel—an epoch in the attainment and registry of doctrinal truth; and as truly in the one case as in the other the statements they give of the truths that fall in their sphere are scientifically final. All attempts at restatement must either repeat their definitions or fall away from the purity of their conceptions or the justness of their language."—Benjamin B. Warfield, "The Significance of the Westminster Standards as a Creed," (1897).

I look forward to the days ahead in looking at the Westminster Confession in a day by day adventure. This document is thoroughly Biblical, and thoroughly Calvinistic.

Screwtape Letters - Movie 2008

Walden Media plans to produce a movie adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel The Screwtape Letters with Ralph Winter Productions.
The film, the company's second Lewis effort, following The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, grossed $744 million worldwide, Variety.com reported. The sequel to that movie, Prince Caspian, is due out next year. Winter is the producer of The X-Men and The Fantastic Four.

"The Screwtape Letters will be a live-action movie, embodying Christian themes, Variety.com reported. First published in 1942, The Screwtape Letters features correspondence between senior demon Screwtape and his wannabe diabolical nephew Wormwood. As a mentor, Screwtape advises his protégé on how to undermine the faith and promote sin to an earthly man known only as “the Patient.”"
The Screwtape Letters will be produced via Walden's Bristol Bay Productions, which produced Amazing Grace, due to open in theaters nationwide this weekend.
