Dissenter’s Cemetery in London

Just recently back from a trip to England. While there I visited the dissenter’s cemetery which is accross the street from John Wesley's church.

Graves of some well known Christians can be found in the cemetery.

John Bunyan, John Owen

Susanna Wesley the mother of Charles and John

to name a few. It was a great stroll in the cemetery. We had to ask the attendant to unlock the gate so that we could get up close. Issac Watts and Daniel DeFoe are also buried here.

Free Jonathan Edwards Audio

This months free audio from christianaudio.com is a Jonathan Edwards trilogy which includes three of the most important sermons ever preached on American soil. Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God is maybe the most important and well-known sermon of his, but also included is A Divine and Supernatural Light describing and illuminating what Edwards describes as a supernatural light imparted by God. His farewell sermon was given in June of 1750 and is a commendation to those who are in the Lord’s service, a plea to maintain unity, avoid dissension and false doctrine, and a call to devote themselves to prayer. Use this coupon code - JUN2007 - to redeem the free book of the month.

You will want to check this sight each month for great free audio.

Hammer & Nail 1 Year Anniversary

It hardly seems like a year has past since I started this blog. It has been a very enjoyable learning experience for me. I have found other great blogs along the way and added links to my favorites. In all of the fun I have tried to "Spread a passion for the supremecy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ."

I love to read and have found that biographies have been a great help in encouraging me. To see how God has dealt with a Spurgeon, Whitefield, Pink, Edwards, Wesley .... on and on brings me great encouragement and joy.

May the year ahead be one in which the reader of Hammer and Nail will go hard afte God. May you be satified in Him alone as you greatest treasure.
