Lloyd-Jones and Piper on the Life of George Whitefield

My interest in George Whitefield was first stirred by John Piper in his biographical sketches at his annual pastors conference.    His talk was entitled: "I Will Not Be a Velvet-Mouthed Preacher!” The Life and Ministry of George Whitefield: Living and Preaching as Though God Were Real (Because He Is), you can listen or watch the viedo at the link above.  In preperation for the pastors conference I read Dallimore's book George Whitefield.  I found it exrtemly readable and enlightening.

This recent release of Lloyd-Jones in this short documentery is a real gem.  Two great preachers loved Whitefield as a pointer to Christ.

Studies in the Sermon on the MountLloyd-Jones: Messenger of Grace

Lloyd-Jones on the Sermon on the Mount is classic and very helpful.  Muray's work on the life Dr. is filled with insight as he worked with him in the ministry.
