Smith who is associate professor of philosophy at Calvin College. His most recent book is Who's Afraid of Postmodernism? Taking Derrida, Lyotard, and Foucault to Church (Baker Academic). Smith is reviewing "The Myth of a Christian Nation", a new book by St. Paul pastor and former professor at Bethel College Greg Boyd.
The article is a review of a troublesome and perlexing direction that Boyd is traveling. Understanding the road and knowing the pot holes will help us avoid a major accident in our theology. Boyd is directing us to a new path of which we must beware.
